Should underage kids be playing these? Do you think it negatively affects them?

There is an age rating for a reason. That's the law plane and simple.
It only negativetly effects them if they can't tell between the game and real life.

NO! Kids shouldn't be playing violent games. It can do stuff to them and society.

I think it all depends on how you raise your kids. Some children are shielded from the world, while others are thrown out into it. I've personally seen the good and bad in both.

I do know one thing. I was a violent teenage kid, and I didn't need video games to become that way. I think kids behavior should be blamed more on the parents than what the world offers them.

As long as the parents are there to assist the kids with those games, it's fine. Parents should talk to their kids too.

Well look at it this way. Our mom's and dad or grandparents for that matter watched violent movies and such their whole life. I mean what is a western movie without shooting and killing. Personally I think video games can be a way of VENTING those emotions without actually doing them in real life. Parents continue to look for something/anything to blame for the way their kids are acting instead of looking in the one place they should have started to begin with....Themselves.
