alrighty so the new trailer for green lantern the movie came out (and if you havent seen it yet, check it out on youtube). here are my thoughts on what ive seen so far.
To begin, id just like to say that i really underestimated ryan renolds as the green lantern. at first he seemed a bit too young to me. but now id say that he suits the role quite well. although you might notice in the trailer that he accidently says his name is "Hal Gordon" and not "Hal Jordon". but at long as they fix that in the actual film i will forgive it.
I have also noticed that the film is trying to be as acurate to the comic book as possible. and by that i mean all the costumes look exactly the same and stuff like that (except for the quardians/oans). now this can result in either a really really good thing or really really bad. i like how their trying to respect the source material, but because theyre doing it so drastically it may make it seem unappealing to adults. in the trailer there are scenes that seemed a bit cartoony and not looking real. for example, the glimpse of sinestro. now whether or not this will effect the movies feel im not certain, but i hope its not too serious. what i DID like in the trailer were the effects on the green radiation when ryan renolds made a giant fist to punch a couple of thugs.
as you heard me say earlier i dont really like how the guardians are the one thing that arent true to the source material. instead of short, blue old men they are tall and humanlike and appear to be quite young. this was a bit of a let down for me. it wouldve been nice to see the little short blue guy's we all know and love. especially since they were able to design sinestro and killowag so well in my opinion.
in conclusion, it looks promising. it sticks to the source, ryan renolds is a good actor and some of the effects are outstanding. if youd like to share your opinion on this thread, be my guest.
